The best way to…

Some questions that I see a lot and are “what’s the best way to…” and then the last part of that changes to a combination of

  • Lose weight

  • get lean

  • get fit

  • gain muscle

etc.

You may see a lot of information from different sources online reporting to give you ‘the best way’ to do any of these things, and more. I want to give you another thought.

The reality is that there are lots of different ways to achieve our goals. Lots of different approaches to weight loss, to getting fit, to gaining muscle. The best way? The way that works for YOU. Yes, there are some key principles that go through each of those different approaches, but finding the approach that you connect with and sustain long term is the best one (for you).

This goes for Personal Trainers. The best personal trainer? The one that connects with YOU and helps YOU to achieve your goals. In fact, this goes for all walks of life. The best of anything is the thing that works for you. Different people have different experiences, and whilst its good to read product reviews and testimonials and sales copy from companies and service providers - we need to make decisions based on our own requirements. What works well for one person, might not work as well for you.

So what I’m saying here is, in our quest for improvement let us make sure that we are doing what is best for us. Sometimes that will mean going along with the crowd, but sometimes it might mean going against it.
